First, the preparation work before the electrical discharge processing
 
1, before the discharge must carefully confirm the electrode map, to understand the shape of the electrode, the number of coarse and fine work, the location of the discharge, there is no special discharge requirements (skin surface, mirror surface), etc.
 
2、Confirm the workpiece. Each insert on the workpiece (except for the insert that CAM instruction needs to cooperate with the discharge) must ask the clampers to remove.
 
3、Confirm whether the electrode is complete. Confirm whether the shape of the electrode is correct, whether the appearance is good, and whether the burr is removed.
 
Second, the workpiece clamping
 
1、Clamp the workpiece according to the drawing, the location of the benchmark must be consistent with the drawing, if the location of the benchmark is not clear, shall not be processed.
 
2、The workpiece pulling table in 3 directions, tolerance control within 0.015mm.
 
3、The workpiece clamping is the first step of the whole processing process, so the above 2 points must be reviewed again and confirmed to be correct before entering the next process.
 
3、Clamping of electrode
 
1、Select the electrode according to the diagram, confirm the electrode number, the size of the rough and finish work, whether the shape of the electrode is correct and whether the polishing is sufficient.
 
2、Confirm whether the reference angle of electrode clamping is in line with the drawing, and whether there is rotating discharge.
 
3、Pull the table in 3 directions of electrode, tolerance control within 0.015mm.
 
Four, electrode touch number
 
1、X, Y axis direction touch number. Confirm whether the benchmark and direction are correct, and whether the data moved to the discharge position is consistent with the drawing.
 
2、Z-axis direction touch number. Confirm whether the zero surface of the workpiece is consistent with the drawing and whether the zero surface of the electrode is correct. Whether the input depth of discharge is consistent with the drawing.
 
3、The position and depth of discharge are very important, so the above 2 points must be reviewed and confirmed to be correct before proceeding to the next step.
 
V. Confirmation of discharge parameters
 
1、Confirm the spark position of the electrode according to the drawing. Set reasonable discharge parameters according to the size of the spark position.
 
2、Confirm whether there are special requirements for discharge according to the diagram. Such as skin surface, mirror surface, etc. Set reasonable discharge parameters according to CAM instructions.
 
3、The setting of discharge parameters should be reasonable and effective, and artificially lowering the discharge speed is strictly prohibited.
 
Sixth, formal discharge
 
1、After the electrode hits the workpiece for the first time, it should be lifted to confirm whether the discharge position is correct and whether there is any deviation.
 
2、The workpiece of sprue, deep hole, mirror and fine rib should be checked frequently to ensure the good condition of chip discharge and prevent carbon accumulation.
 
Seven, the discharge is completed
 
1、Check whether the shape of discharge is correct and whether the segment difference is in place before removing the electrode.
 
2、Before removing the electrode (fine work), confirm the loss condition of the electrode, if the loss condition is serious, apply new electrode to discharge again.
 
3、Before unloading the electrode, the depth direction of the electrode should be tested by touching the head of the electrode to confirm whether the depth direction has been discharged to the number.
 
4、Before unloading the workpiece, make sure all the electrodes have been discharged. Confirm that there is no missing part that needs to be discharged.
 
5、Processing with special requirements such as mirror surface and sparkle pattern, if there is any change, it must be indicated on the EDM drawing.
 
6、All EDM drawings must be properly stored after processing, and eventually return to CAM to keep files.
